The Rainmaker

A rural con man brings sunshine into the life of an unhappy woman., In the middle of a drought, smooth-talking conman Bill Starbuck walks into town and offers rain, at $100 a pop. Ugly duckling rancher’s daughter Lizzie remains sceptical, until Starbuck makes lightning thaw her frosty heart., In this film, Burt Lancaster stars as a confidence artist who works the drought-ridden Southwest, promising to bring rain for a flat fee of a hundred bucks. During his latest campaign, Lancaster takes up residence in the home of farmer Cameron Prud’homme and his three offspring.
