Crook and Ladder
When members of the Springfield fire department are injured, Homer volunteers to be a temporary fire-fighter, along with Moe, Apu and Skinner. But, they soon take people’s gratitude toward them for granted, abuse their authority and start stealing items they deem to be ‘fire damaged’. When Marge and the kids find out what Homer’s up to they aren’t at all happy., Homer, Apu, Moe and Skinner volunteer as firemen after Homer’s sleepwalking accident injures the town’s firefighters. They do some light looting at the fires to make up for not being compensated, but Marge and Lisa shame them into mending their ways., Maggie wreaks a path of destruction in the Simpson home after Marge follows advice in ‘Smothering Mother’ magazine and throws away her dummy. But it soon becomes a case of better the devil you know, when Maggie chooses an incessantly squeaky toy dog as a substitute.
