Movie Maniacs
In their second comedy short of 1936, The Three Stooges create havoc in a movie company bearing a strong resemblance to Columbia Pictures. The film studio in question, however, is Carnation Pictures (“The Home of Contended Actors.”) When Moe, Larry and Curly take over the reigns due to a case of mistaken identity, the usual mayhem ensues. To add Hollywood glamour, Columbia hired former silent screen stars Kenneth Harlan and Mildred Harris, the first Mrs. Charles Chaplin. Veteran screen villain Harry Semels played a highstrung director named Cecil Z.
