Restless Knights
The boys are the Queens’ guards, so she’s soon abducted in “Restless Knights”., Their second comedy short of 1935, Restless Knights is decidedly below average for The Three Stooges, who seemed lost in Columbia’s cardboard “mythical kingdom” set. They are hired to bodyguard a beautiful princess (Geneva Mitchell, after which she is promptly abducted by a nefarious villain. Directed by the capable Charles Lamont, the 2-reeler also featured Walter Brennan, Stanley Blystone and, as handmaidens, studio starlets Marie Wells and Eadie Adams. Director Lamont enjoyed working with the Stooges but hated toiling for studio Czar Harry Cohn and his stay with the short subject department proved brief.
