Mad scientist (George Coulouris) feeds girls to a huge tree from the Amazon. Judy: Joy Webster. Charles Saunders directed., The title of this low-budget horror outing refers to a peculiar South American plant (that must somehow be related to a Venus flytrap) that must eat the flesh of human women to thrive. The local natives accommodate the plant’s strange taste through a sacrificial rite. One day a nutty professor on a jungle excursion stumbles across the horrifying ritual. Observing the plant he sees that it excretes a strange sap after a meal, something the doctor suspects may make humans immortal. He immediately, steals the tree and brings it back to basement laboratory in London. In order to get the sap, he must find a steady buffet of unsuspecting beauties. To test the sap, he kills his housekeeper and then injects a serum made from it into her corpse. She comes back a mindless zombie. Realizing that the plant is useless to him, he tries to destroy it only to discover that after years of eating prime rib, the strange tree isn’t averse to munching a hamburger on occasion.
