While in a state of limbo, Willis’ consciousness was taken over by the bank robber whom he has just killed in a shoot-out. As is often the case, Scully refuses to believe that this metamorphosis has taken place, but Mulder is convinced that Jack Willis is no longer the real Jack Willis. “Lazarus” was written by Alex Gansa and Howard Gordon. The episode first aired February 4, 1994., When FBI Agent Willis is shot during a bank robbery, Scully tries to resuscitate him while the bank robber, Warren Dupre dies on the operating table. Afterward, Agent Willis begins to exhibit behavior strangely reminiscent of Dupre.
