The Dance
New miners arrive in town, and one of them charms Elizabeth, much to Jack’s chagrin. Elsewhere, Abigail cares for a pregnant widow while Coal Valley’s doctor is away., Elizabeth’s latest student is a girl who has stopped talking since the death of her father. Meanwhile, Jack looks into the church fire., A confrontation seems imminent until a well-spoken miner, Billy Hamilton, diffuses the situation and makes a not-so-subtle advance towards Elizabeth. However, Jack suspects that Billy is not who he says he is. The Miners’ Games allow the townspeople to cut loose and have a little fun. Meanwhile, Elizabeth and Billy Hamilton spend more time together and Jack investigates a series of robberies that are plaguing Coal Valley.
