Nothing but the night
Tony cancels his book-publicity tour to help Carol profile a killer whose MO changes with every murder, but his investigation is hampered by a fan who has become infatuated with him., Carol and Tony are stuck – the bizarrely varied crimes seem motiveless and they cannot deduce a coherent profile. Tony meets a woman who turns out to be more than he bargained for. Carol finds herself caught up in police politics and personal deception when she oversees a case review., The brutal murder of a woman, beaten to death with a steam iron, brings Tony back from a publicity tour for his latest book to join in on Carol’s investigation. More bizarre but completely different deaths follow, and Tony is bewildered, unable to create a profile for a seemingly schizophrenic killer.
