The plan is to lure Charles into marriage and then to get him to change the will. All seems to go quite smoothly until Maria realizes she has fallen for Charles and reneges on her part in the scheme. After the two marry and are vacationing, Charles unexpectedly dies. Seizing his moment, Anthony appears, using blackmail to proceed with his mission. Now implicated in the death, Maria faces arrest and charges of murder.
