Rajniesh Duggall: Priyanka Chopra declined to appear alongside him on screen.

Rajniesh Duggall, who made his Bollywood debut in the horror thriller 1920, says that actor Priyanka Chopra caused him to be cut from his first movie.

Rajniesh Duggall was scheduled to make his cinematic debut far earlier than the 2008 horror thriller 1920, which marked his Bollywood debut. The actor now claims that although Priyanka Chopra declined to co-star with him in the 2005 movie Yakeen, he had signed her.

Rajniesh Duggall talked candidly about getting cut from his debut movie in a recent interview. He claimed that Priyanka Chopra wouldn’t collaborate with him because he was a rookie.

“I signed on to the movie since I was first choice for Yakeen. Actually, I had been working on it. ‘When can you move to Mumbai?’ director Girish Dhamija asked me when we first met. I had already made plans to relocate to Mumbai. Thus, I had instruction directly from Girish ji; he is a dialect coach and a National School of Drama graduate,” he stated in the interview.

Rajniesh continued by saying the producer had made significant investments in him and had inked a three-film deal. They even gave him a cook, a chauffeur driven car, and a penthouse on Juhu. He also underwent five months of training for the movie. However, Priyanka Chopra‘s rejection caused things to alter.

“The producer, Sujit Kumar Singh, abruptly summoned me to his late-night office. He informed me that, in the time since they signed me and paid her for the bulk deal, Priyanka has grown to be a huge star and is now declaring, ‘I will not work with a newcomer.’ I thought, ‘Change the girl,’ since all I saw was them putting money on me. At the time, I had no idea what the movie business was all about,” he said.

After beginning his career as a model, Rajniesh Duggall went on to become the 2003 Grasim Mr. India champion and represent India in the London-based Mr. International pageant. He placed first runner-up. Following his Bollywood debut, he took part in and won the reality show Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 5.
