Saif Ali Khan said- ‘There is a need to stay away from religion’
The mythological film Adipurush was criticized a lot after its release. People were very angry due to the characters not being presented properly in the film inspired by Ramayana. A case was also registered against Saif Ali Khan and director Om Raut. Recently Saif has reacted to this.
The mythological film Adipurush, directed by Om Raut, was one of the most talked about films of the year 2023. There was a lot of buzz about the film before its release, but after its release it only received criticism. People expressed their displeasure towards the scenes, dialogues and characters of the film.
Not only this, a lawyer had filed a case in UP against Saif Ali Khan and director Om Raut for playing the role of Ravana in Adipurush and accused them of hurting religious sentiments. Now Saif Ali Khan has broken his silence on these controversies and said that it is better to stay away from films related to religion.
Saif Ali Khan has learned a big lesson from Adipurush. Due to the disturbing controversy, he has decided to keep himself away from films like Dharma. He said in an interview to India Today, “There was a case and the court had decided something which said that an actor is responsible for whatever he says on screen. I know a lot of people are not free to say or do whatever they want. We all have to control ourselves a little and be a little careful. Otherwise, there can be trouble.”
Saif Ali Khan said that making films on topics like religion requires sensitivity. The Devara actor said, “There are some areas like religion that you need to stay away from. We are not here to cause trouble.” Saif said that the Tandav series also received a lot of criticism, which has shaped his understanding even more.
Saif Ali Khan‘s film Devara Part 1 has been released in theatres on 27 September. In this film, he is playing the negative role of Bhaira. Junior NTR and Janhvi Kapoor are in the lead roles in the film.
