Bail Granted to Men Who Tried to Target Salman Khan – What Are the Shocking Details?

The Bombay High Court granted bail to two accused – Wasim Chikna and Sandeep Bishnoi – in the case of a failed plot to kill Salman Khan near a farmhouse. Citing insufficient evidence, the Bombay High Court on Friday granted bail to two men accused of being part of a failed plot to murder Bollywood actor Salman Khan near his farmhouse in Panvel last year. The conspiracy was allegedly hatched by the gang of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.

The accused were granted bail by the High Court

In June 2024, the Mumbai Police, while investigating the shootout incident outside his residence in Bandra in April last year, unearthed a plot to kill the actor, which was also carried out by members of the Bishnoi gang.

A bench of Justice NR Borkar granted bail to Waspi Mahmood Khan alias Wasim Chikna and Gaurav Vinod Bhatia alias Sandeep Bishnoi after the bench found that there was no concrete evidence against them except their presence in the WhatsApp group on which the alleged conspiracy was hatched and discussed.

Seven accused arrested

A total of seven accused have been arrested in this foiled conspiracy case. The police allege that all of them are members of the Bishnoi gang. As per the police investigation, Gaurav, Waspi and another accused Rizwan Khan alias Javed Khan had conducted a recce of the actor’s farmhouse as well as his house in Bandra.

The accused has already been granted bail

During the hearing today, Yashwant Chawre, counsel for Waspi and Gaurav, argued that the allegations against them were fabricated to attract media attention. Yashwant Chaware said that co-accused Deepak Gogalia alias Johnny Valmiki, who was arrested from Rajasthan in June last year, has already got bail from the Panvel Sessions Court.
