Shatrughan Sinha mentioned that he has not been officially informed about the wedding plans by Sonakshi herself.
Shatrughan Sinha has recently shared his thoughts and expectations regarding the upcoming marriage of his daughter, Sonakshi Sinha, to her longtime boyfriend, Zaheer Iqbal. Despite widespread media reports, Shatrughan mentioned that he has not been officially informed about the wedding plans by Sonakshi herself.
He emphasized that he and his wife trust Sonakshi’s judgment and will fully support and bless the couple when they receive official confirmation from their daughter.
In 2011, Shatrughan said, “One day, she will go away to in-laws. Given a chance and choice, we won’t look for a son-in-law but we will look for another son for us, who will stay with us.” He added, “I will only say that Sonakshi, I love you, we are always there with you. I am your bestest father’.”
Her mother Poonam said, “Sonakshi, the person you want to live the rest of your life with, as I always told you that he should be someone who loves you more than you love him.”
Interestingly, Shatrughan also expressed a welcoming attitude towards his future son-in-law, highlighting his preference for a close-knit family arrangement. He mentioned that rather than just seeking a traditional son-in-law, he envisions Zaheer as part of the family, even suggesting that it would be ideal if the couple stayed with them after the marriage.
The wedding, planned for June 23, 2024, in Mumbai, is set to be a grand event with invitations already sent to close friends and family. The ceremonies will take place at Bastian, a popular venue in Mumbai.
