The upcoming drama series Shogun is based on a novel written in 1975 by James Clavell. It is a Limited edition series. Shogun is set in the 17th century. And tells the story of a brave sailor named John Blackthorne.
The series will showcase the adventures voyage of John Blackthorne and shows the challenge faced by the sailor while being used as a pawn in Japanese leader Toranaga. And the incredible tale where a sailor who rises from outsider to samurai and reaches to top ruling chain.
Actors, Hiroyuki Sanada, Cosmo Jarvis, Anna Sawai, Tadanobu Asano, Takehiro Hira, Tommy Bastow and Fumi Nikaido are playing key roles in the series.
The series is co-created by Rachel Kondo and Justin Marks. And co-produced by Hiroyuki Sanada and Eriko Miyagawa under the banner of Gate 34, Michael De Luca Productions and FXP.
The series is set to premiere on February 27, 2024 on Disney+Hotstar. The first two episodes will release on February 27, 2024. And remaining episodes of the 10-episode series will be releasing weekly.
