Snow White flops badly at the box office: Disney stops live action film of Tangled

Disney’s live action remake is going through a lot of upheaval. Recently, the company has decided to stop the live action project of Tangled, which is the film that gave a new identity to Rapunzel with its magical story in 2010.

But the last live action film Snow White has proved to be a complete flop at the box office. This film was made on a huge budget of $270 million, but it has earned only $145 million worldwide and this film has also faced a lot of controversies.

Rachel Zegler played the character of Snow White in the film, which the fans did not like at all. This film has got a rating of B+ on CinemaScore and 50% on Metacritic, which is very low for Disney’s level.

Disney’s live action is in trouble because even their first few live action films did not live up to their expectations. The film The Little Mermaid could only earn $560 million worldwide, which is not satisfactory for Disney. Apart from this, Dumbo and Pete’s Dragon proved to be very less hits at the box office.

Now Disney is realizing that the live action remake of every animated film cannot be successful, so the upcoming Tangled, which was to be directed by Michael Gracey (The Greatest Showman) and Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Thor: Love and Thunder) was writing its script, has now been put on hold indefinitely.

Now Disney is being very cautious about the strategy of its next live action films. The failure of Snow White has forced the studio to think. Now it remains to be seen whether Tangled will be restarted or will be stopped completely soon.
