Sonakshi Sinha, a Bollywood celebrity, and Zaheer Iqbal married on June 23, 2024. The much-in-love pair held a modest ceremony at the former’s Bandra home, accompanied by their family and few industry colleagues. Sonakshi recently issued a forceful statement in response to backlash over her interfaith marriage to Zaheer.
Sonakshi Sinha took to Instagram on Tuesday to reveal her latest wedding photos. In the photos, the wedding pair is seen getting close and even kissing each other. Sonakshi was seen putting a kiss on Zaheer Iqbal‘s forehead, and they looked adorable together. In another photo, Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal were seen hugging.
Sonakshi‘s caption captured everyone’s attention. She captioned the post: ‘Whattttt a day!!!! The love, the laughter, the togetherness, the excitement, the warmth, the support from every one of our friends, families and teams… it was like the universe came together for two people in love to give them exactly what they’ve always hoped, wished and prayed for ❤️ If this is not divine intervention… we dont know what is ✨ We are both truly blessed to have each other and so much love protecting us’.
Following Sonakshi and Zaheer Iqbal‘s wedding, the Hindu Shiv Bhawani Sena organised a protest march in Sonakshi’s father, Shatrughan Sinha‘s birthplace of Patna, Bihar, dubbed “love jihad.” They even advised Sonakshi not to visit the state capital again.
Sonakshi’s father, Shatrughan Sinha, also responded to the rally by urging everyone to stop spreading hatred. He said that his daughter had not done anything unlawful or unconstitutional. He even stated that “a wedding is a very personal decision between two people; no one has the right to interfere or comment. To all the protests, I say Get a life. Do something valuable with your life. Aur kuch nahi kehna.”
