Modern Masters is a new documentary that follows the career and filmmaking process of SS Rajamouli, the director of blockbusters such as RRR and Baahubali.

Everyone, from his father to his kids, is deeply involved in his filmography. His uncle, K. Shiva Shakthi Datta, is a lyricist; his father, V. Vijayendra Prasad, is a screenwriter and director; his sister-in-law, M. M. Srivalli, and son, S. S. Karthikeya, are both line producers; and his wife, Rama Rajamouli, is a costume designer. His cousin, M. M. Keeravani, is a music composer best known for the 95th Academy Awards (Oscars) winning song ‘Naatu Naatu’ from RRR; another cousin, S. S. Kanchi, is a writer; and his nephew, Kaala Bhairava, is a musician.
SS Rajamouli‘s most recent film, RRR, earned him global attention and proved to be a box office success. MM Keeravani won an Oscar for Best Original Song for Naatu Naatu, making it the first song from an Indian film and the first from an Asian film to win the award. Modern Masters, directed by Raghav Khanna and produced by Anupama Chopra, will premiere on Netflix on August 2.
