“Indian 2” opened with a decent but not spectacular first day, grossing around Rs. 31 crore
The much-anticipated sequel “Indian 2,” directed by Shankar and starring Kamal Haasan, has experienced a challenging journey at the box office. Despite the high expectations and star-studded cast, the film’s performance has been underwhelming, reflecting a significant drop in collections by the fifth day.

Initial Box Office Performance
“Indian 2” opened with a decent but not spectacular first day, grossing around Rs. 31 crore. Although this was the second-highest opening for Kamal Haasan, it paled in comparison to other major releases by director Shankar, such as “2.0,” which earned Rs. 70 crore on its first day.

Decline Over the First Five Days
The film’s box office trajectory saw a sharp decline over the first few days. By the second day, “Indian 2” managed to hold well in Tamil Nadu but saw a notable drop in collections in the Telugu market. The total earnings for the first two days stood at Rs. 42.30 crore. As the days progressed, the film struggled to maintain its initial momentum, slipping into single-digit collections by day five.

Current Earnings and Projections
As of day five, “Indian 2” has grossed approximately Rs. 65 crore domestically and Rs. 117 crore worldwide. The film’s performance indicates that it might be heading towards a lifetime global haul of around Rs. 150 crore, which is below the expectations set by its predecessor and other recent big-budget releases.
Critical Reception and Audience Feedback
The mixed reviews and average audience feedback have contributed to the film’s lackluster box office performance. While Kamal Haasanβs performance and the film’s visual spectacle received praise, the narrative and pacing did not resonate well with a broad audience.
