Stree 2 director : ‘Not everything should revolve around stars’
Stree 2 has achieved significant box office success, and director Amar Kaushik has shared his thoughts on how the film triumphed without relying on big stars. Kaushik emphasized his commitment to storytelling over star power, noting that the film’s success was driven by a strong narrative and relatable characters.

He addressed Akshay Kumar‘s cameo in the film, stating that while Akshay’s appearance added excitement, the core of the movie did not depend on his star presence. Instead, Kaushik believes in creating a world where every character contributes to the story, rather than centering everything around a star.

This approach, according to him, allows for more creative freedom and a stronger connection with the audience.
Kaushik also expressed his satisfaction with how Stree 2 resonated with the audience, crediting the film’s success to its unique blend of horror and comedy, which he feels has a universal appeal. He highlighted that this approach ensures the film remains engaging and fresh, even without relying on star power.
Kaushik’s focus on delivering quality content over catering to star-driven expectations is a testament to the evolving dynamics of Indian cinema.
“Stree 2” has grossed over ₹285 crore globally, making it one of the biggest hits of 2024.
