The Decameron: The Comedy Drama Series will be available on Netflix on July 25, 2024

Introduction 

Kathleen Jordan created The Decameron, an American mediaeval black humour television series. It was inspired by Giovanni Boccaccio’s 14th-century Italian short story work with same title.

Plot 

The series explores the all-too-common issue of class strife during a pandemic, as a group of misfits attempt to survive the bubonic plague outbreak in 1348 Florence. A group of nobility and their slaves flee to the countryside Villa Santa. As they try to wait out the plague in the Tuscan hills with wine and sex, the group is forced to battle for their lives.

The cast of The Decameron includes Zosia Mamet as Pampinea, Saoirse-Monica Jackson as Misia, Tanya Reynolds as Licisca, Amar Chadha-Patel is Dioneo, Leila Farzad as Stratilia, Lou Gala as Neifile Karan Gill as Panfilo, Tony Hale portrays Sirisco Douggie McMeekin portrays Tindaro and Jessica Plummer plays Filomena.
