About the movie The Kerala Story
The movie was marketed as a true story. It is supposed to be based on the Hindutva conspiracy theory of Love Jihad.
Before the release of the movie, several petitions were filed for a ban on grounds of promoting communal disharmony at the Madras High Court, Kerala High Court and the Supreme Court of India. These petitions were either declined or dismissed by the courts.
Later, Government of West Bengal banned the movie for the reason of Hate Speech which increases communal tension. The filmmaker had to add two disclaimers after the order of Superme Court, that the movie is fictional and the figures in the movie are inauthentic.
Plot of the movie The Kerala Story
The movie revolves around Shalini Unnikrishnan. And share her journey to become a nurse. Shalini used to study in college and have with Muslim friends. They were the extremist Muslims and always coerced her.
Shalini eventually follow them and accept their thoughts. She continues to study as to become a nurse. And after completing her studies, she gets good job offer in a Afghanistan.
Because of some unexpected events Shalini ends up imprisoned in Afghanistan. What make Shalini to be imprisoned? Did she manage to escape the improvement?

Adah Sharma as Shalini Unnikrishnan / Fatima Ba, Yogita Bihani as Nimah, Sonia Balani as Asifa and Siddhi Idnani as Geetanjali are playing key roles in the movie.
Alongwith Devadarshini as Shalini’s mother, Vijay Krishna as Ishak, Pranay Pachauri as Rameez, Pranav Misshra as Abdul and Pranali Ghogare as Shaziya playing various supporting roles.
