The issue with sequels to inventive films is that people sometimes believe that the only way to top it is to make it larger. Bring more supplies. However, as seen in Meg 2, this may merely muddle the waters.
Meg’s solution to increasing the ante is to bring in additional sharks, but this has been done before, as have the majority of the film’s twists and turns.
Jason Statham portrays Jonas as a force to be reckoned with. The clip shows him kicking Meg in the face, riding a jet ski like a bat out of hell, and striding over the sea floor like he’s on a morning stroll. That is nothing compared to the film’s insane, physics-defying action sequences. Meanwhile, DJ (Kennedy) provides a welcome diversion from the overpowering Jonas. He is adorable, interjects just the appropriate amount of sarcasm, says exactly what the audience thinks, and is easy to cheer for. Meiying and her uncle Jiuming are also simple to root for. They are rash to the point of irresponsibility, yet the audience hopes they survive.
The narrative is shallow, the action is absurd, and many of the moments are cliché. However, once the action begins, it never stops. The central characters are endearing and endearing. The authors play fast and loose with the rules of physics and biology, albeit in a lighthearted way. Meg 2: The Trench is a must-see for adrenaline enthusiasts and Statham fans.
