Trishul 2: Anand Pandit gave the good news before Amitabh Bachchan’s 82nd birthday
Producer Anand Pandit has revealed plans to make a sequel to the Amitabh Bachchan-starrer 1978 film ‘Trishul’. The announcement was made on the eve of Bachchan‘s 82nd birthday. Anand Pandit is deeply inspired by the original film and its protagonist Vijay (played by Amitabh Bachchan). The producer revealed that he has watched ‘Trishul’ almost 60 times. Anand called the planned sequel a manifestation of his dream and his tribute to legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan.
If ‘Trishul 2’ comes to fruition, it will be the fifth time Ashoke Pandit and Amitabh Bachchan will work together. Their previous collaborations include ‘Sarkar 3’ (2017), ‘Chehre’ (2021), ‘Fakt Mahilaano Maate’ (2022), and ‘Fakt Purush Maate’.
Ashoke Pandit also backed Abhishek Bachchan in ‘The Big Bull’ (2021). However, he hasn’t finalised a director for the sequel of ‘Trishul’ but has hinted that it could be a young and new director. He hasn’t spoken to Big B or the makers of the original film about it yet.
