The Union movie review

The Union : Halley Berry does the heavylifting in this old spy thriller in new bottle

The Union is a spy thriller that attempts to mix blue-collar charm with high-octane action, featuring strong performances from Halle Berry and Mark Wahlberg. Directed by Julian Farino, the film revolves around a covert organization named “The Union,” which recruits ordinary workers for extraordinary missions.

Berry plays Roxanne, who enlists her former high-school sweetheart, Mike (Wahlberg), into a globe-trotting mission to recover a stolen list of secret agents.

While the concept is intriguing, with the idea of everyday heroes saving the world, the film falls into familiar spy movie tropes. The narrative borrows heavily from classics like Mission: Impossible, offering little in terms of originality.

However, Berry and Wahlberg’s chemistry, along with some engaging action sequences, manage to keep the film entertaining. Despite its flaws, The movie offers a fun, albeit forgettable, ride for fans of the genre.
