The series is set in the year 1990. The citizens of Seoul were living under fear after a series of brutal attacks and murders occurred in the city.

A mysterious person wearing a ‘Red Cap’ was stalking women on the streets and then killing them without any motives. His habit of striking at random women made it impossible for the detectives to predict his next move. All the detectives fail to figure out the tiggering point for the killer that made him do these criminal acts. The head of the Criminal Behavioural Analysis team, Gook Young Soo, assigns this case to Song Ha Young.

Song Ha Young is an incredibly perceptive former detective for his team. He is quite reserved by nature. He knows to use the technique of the American FBI to identify serial killers. Gook Young Soo trusts Song Ha that he can provide the necessary help in capturing the serial killer. This decision gets opposed by many teammates, as they don’t trust Song Ha Young for some specific reason. To stop the criminal activities, Song Ha Young and Gook Young Soo have to go through many obstacles.

Actors Kim Nam Gil, Jin Seon Kyu, and Kim So Jin are playing the lead roles, with various actors in supporting roles in the series.

The plot of the series is inspired by a novel titled Those Who Read the Minds of Evil, co-written by authors Kwon Il Yong and Ko Na Mu. The story of the series is written by Seol Yi-na. The series is directed by Park Boram. The series is co-produced by Han Jeong Hwan, Kim Si Hwan, and Park Ki eol under the banner of Studio S Production Company. The music for the series is composed by Gaemi.
