She is the daughter of renowned actors Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia. Rajesh Khanna, widely regarded as the first superstar of Indian cinema, was a big figure in the 1970s, and his popularity was such that his followers would go to any length for him.

In a viral video, Twinkle Khanna was asked if she would write a biography of Rajesh Khanna. The former actress answered by stating that she had no interest in publishing a book about her father. The actress stated that she favours storylines with deeper depths and important messages over those centred on a single individual. Her remark provoked debate, with some acknowledging how tough it must be for a daughter to share anything about her father’s life. The writer concurred: “It is great to write a story about a single person, but for that, there has to be layers, and their stories need to have a message.”

People have requested late star Rajesh Khanna to write his biography, but he declined. The Anand actor expressed anxiety that giving an honest account of his life would divulge intimate information about others, potentially inflicting harm. Khanna stated that people only know him through his films and cinema magazines. Although he wanted them to know his other side, he refused to write a biography.
