The movie is set in 1960s. And follows a self-centered, money-hungry scammer. He takes advantage of the superstitions of the locals to make a living. He tries a lot of different strategies to get the temple open again after his main source of income is cut off.
Ramasamy is an agnostic. There is a legend that the god vanished when floods destroyed the village many years ago. A mud pot is the form that the villagers believe their deity has returned in, years later, due to certain circumstances. To get some quick cash, Ramasamy takes advantage of the locals’ beliefs.
