Vijay Devarakonda’s Cameo In Kalki 2898 AD: “Did It For Prabhas And Nag Ashwin”

“There is no such thing as Prabhas vs Vijay in the Kalki 2898 AD,” the actor stated.

Kalki 2898 AD has been trending heavily since its premiere in theatres last Thursday. However, the film is about much more than Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan. Vijay Deverakonda makes a cameo appearance in the film.

In an interview, Vijay Deverakonda explained why he chose to play a cameo in the movie. When asked about his part, Vijay Deverakonda stated that he played Prabhas and Nag Ashwin in the film Kalki 2898 AD. He said that they were all his favourite individuals. “There is no such thing as Prabhas vs Vijay in this Kalki 2898 AD. We simply played those roles as Karna and Arjuna in the Nagi Universe.”

Saibal Chatterjee, a film critic, scored the film 2.5 stars out of 5, writing, “On the performance front, Prabhas leads the way, and not just because the film focuses around him. His commanding appearance contrasts with Amitabh Bachchan‘s gigantic Ashwatthama, the deathless warrior, who stands eight feet tall. The latter’s voice is, as usual, an essential component of the character.”

Saibal Chatterjee also mentioned, “Deepika Padukone, who plays one of the primary characters, is brilliant as the pregnant woman on the run. Saswata Chatterjee, as the bad guy who shoots lethal laser rays from his fist, has his moments in a picture that frequently allows spectacle to overshadow everything else that it is trying to portray about humanity and the perils it faces as a result of its own profligate ways.”
