Zareen Khan recalls how comparisons to Katrina Kaif impacted her career negatively

Zareen Khan : ‘I was given so many names, was called a failure’

In a recent podcast, Zareen Khan opened up about the detrimental impact of being constantly compared to Katrina Kaif during her early career. Khan revealed that she was often seen as arrogant, which stemmed from being labeled as Kaif‘s lookalike even before her debut film “Veer” was released.

This comparison overshadowed her own identity and led to preconceived negative perceptions. Khan faced severe body-shaming, derogatorily nicknamed “Fatrina” due to her weight gain for “Veer,” where she played an 18th-century princess.

Despite her efforts to fit industry standards, the focus remained on her appearance rather than her talent, affecting her mental health. She emphasized the importance of self-acceptance and mental peace over societal pressures.

Khan believes the public was never given a fair chance to see her true potential and form their own opinions
